The Gagà Laboratorio Labormatic Cinquanta is a watch like no other
Gagà Laboratorio has linked up with the singer Alessandro Ristori to create a brand new teal-faced Labormatic Cinquanta
Brainchild of Ruben Tomella, who has been in the industry since 2004, Gagà Laboratorio is the innovative brand that is doing things a little differently. Joined by Mo Coppoletta, the Art Director of Gagà Laboratorio and the watch connoisseur behind watches like the Bulgari Octo Finissimo special series featuring motifs of Asian tattooing, Tomella wanted to build a new watchmaking brand that had a distinctive stylistic line.
The first model of Gagà Laboratorio was the Labormatic, presented earlier this year. The Labormatic comes out in two different versions: the Cinquanta and the Bauhaus. The latter is characterised by clean geometric lines and minimalist styling, while the former is a watch that is unrivalled in visuals and design.

The Labormatic Cinquanta was inspired by the classic Italian Dolce Vita of the Fifties, which was defined by a new prosperity in the nation. Post-war, people had money to spend and an economic boom meant better clothing, richer lifestyles and happier souls. The watch, in colour, number and design, reflects this.
The Labormatic Cinquanta model is presented in a complex multi-part case of stainless steel measuring 42mm diameter, which features a curved sapphire crystal on both the front and the rear.
The dial itself is what's so unique about this timepiece, and exceptional detail has gone in to the architecture of it. It has a digital hour and analog minutes indication paired with a central disc for the seconds, which in short doesn't resemble your typical watch. It's perfectly circular in design, and sets Gagà Laboratorio aside as a watch brand to observe. Inside it's powered by an automatic movement by the prestigious Manufacture La Joux-Perret, while it sits on a handsome, hand-made leather strap.
For the launch of the Labormatic Cinquanta Mo Coppoletta, as a self-professed admirer of the traditional Italian Dolce Vita, partnered with singer Alessandro Ristori who is a national ambassador of Italy, and has referenced the retro fifties vibe on stage for the best part of the past four decades. Ristori will stand as an ambassador for the watch.
