Late last week, it was alleged that Depp spends a whopping $2 million a month – but what on?
Over the past couple of months, Depp has found himself (and his lifestyle choices) come under enormous scrutiny. And last week came another blow when his business managers laid claim to the fact that he was spending a whopping $2 million a month on his lifestyle. As it currently stands, he owns 14 houses, 70 guitars and has a very expensive taste for fine wine.
The claim against Depp has come after the actor launched a $25 million lawsuit against his business managers at The Mandel Company for “gross mismanagement” of his affairs. Depp is claiming that these managers have failed to properly pay his taxes, that they’ve made unauthorised loans and have overpaid on services that have ultimately cost him “tens of millions of dollars”. During this explosive row, Depp claimed that he was only made away of the financial trouble that he was in in March last year.
TMG have come back stating that they “did everything within its power over the last 17 years to protect Depp from himself and to keep Depp financially solvent” but that they “did not have the power or ability to control Depp’s spending or his numerous other vices, or to force Depp to make wiser financial decisions.” So what, exactly, has Depp been spending his dollars on?
Depp reportedly refuses to travel any other way than private plane, and selects a Gulfstream GV that costs him $200,000 every single month.

Depp has reportedly spent an enormous $75 million to ‘acquire, improve and furnish’ 14 properties all over the world, from his 45-acre chateau in the south of France ($13,5 million) and his own chain of islands in the Bahamas to his horse farm in Kentucky.

‘Millions’ of dollars have been spent on Depp’s impressive garage containing 45 different luxury cars. His collection rivals even some of the best in the world and makes up for a huge proportion of his spending.
Depp employs 40 full-time employees around the world, including personal security for him and his family 24 hours a day. His chefs, security, drivers and house staff cost him $300,00 a month.
In one of his most bizarre expenses, Depp spent $3 million of his personal money fulfilling his friend Hunter S. Thompson’s wishes of having his ashes blasted across Aspen using a “specifically-made cannon”.
His various battles with alcohol have been documented in the past, but Depp still has a taste for fine wines. He apparently flies various wines from all over the world to his home for his personal consumption, costing around $30,000.
Depp is clearly one of the most stylish men in the world, but it comes at a cost – his world-class jewellery and clothes have supposedly cost him millions over the years.
