Raise a toast with Louis Roederer at London’s best bars
Whether it’s a festive celebration or a casual mid-week indulgence, here’s where to raise a glass of Louis Roederer in the capital
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want something more sophisticated than your usual post-work gin and tonic, there’s never a bad time for a glass of champagne – especially if your bubbles of choice are Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV. The house’s signature fizz is an elegant blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier grapes matured in oak to deliver a fresh, rich and complex flavour perfect for occasions both big and small.
Of course, whatever your reason for raising a toast, a wine this fine deserves an equally chic setting. Here’s our guide to London’s best bars serving Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV…
The Beaufort Bar at The Savoy
Always fancied yourself as a bit of a Gene Kelly or Cary Grant? Nowhere will transport you back to the Golden Age of Hollywood quite like the Beaufort Bar at the world famous Savoy hotel. An icon in its own right, the Beaufort bar’s eye-catching black and gold decor is inspired by the glamour of cabaret, promising an evening you won’t forget.
There is an extensive list of cocktails to choose from but we recommend you stick with the classics. Sink back into one of the plush sofas nestled inside the bar’s golden alcoves – champagne in hand – and soak up the atmosphere as resident musicians serenade you from the adjoining Thames Foyer.
Hakkasan Mayfair
A Michelin-starred meal deserves the proper aperitif – and no-one knows this better than Mayfair’s Hakkasan. Designed by world-renowned interior designer Christian Liaigre, this contemporary restaurant has been delighting London diners with its modern take on Chinese classics – such as black truffle roasted duck and crispy fresh water prawn – since it opened as the second in the Hakkasan empire in 2010.
However, its beautiful (and excellently stocked) bar remains something of a hidden secret and is well worth a visit. We highly recommend arriving early for your reservation to take a seat at the bar and enjoy a glass of Louis Roederer Brut Premier NV or even just popping in for a glass of champagne and some of Hakkasan’s excellent dim sum.
Gong at Shangri-La, The Shard
If you like your drink with a view then few bars offer better than Gong at the Shangri-La hotel. Located on floor 52 of the Shard, the Asian-inspired space derives its name from dougong, a traditional element of Chinese architecture which features in its decor, and boasts panoramic views across London’s famous skyline.
Divided into three intimate spaces, each decked out in the hotel’s sophisticated palette of dark woods, rich velvets and statement marble, guests can choose to watch the theatrics taking place behind the cocktail bar or even take a dip in the Sky Pool should the mood take them. For Louis Roederer aficionados, however, we suggest taking in seat among like-minded individuals in the champagne bar.
