The best London restaurants delivering fine dining to your front door
Fancy a Michelin-starred takeaway tonight? These establishments are primed to deliver the full haute cuisine experience…
Sure, there’s something immensely rewarding about mastering your first focaccia, jumping on the banana bread bandwagon, and nurturing a sourdough starter as patiently as if it were your first born child. And, thanks to lockdown part one, many of us have become more capable bakers than we’d have ever dreamed possible.
But man cannot live on bread alone. We want lobster! Beef Wellington! Oysters and caviar! And, thanks to the wonderful ingenuity and speed of London’s top restaurants, as we head back into lockdown, we can. With Michelin-worthy stay-at-home options springing up in professional kitchens all over the capital, it’s time to pull out the stops, gather your bubble together and stream some of the smoothest jazz Spotify has to offer.
Below, we’ve rounded up some of the best fine dining restaurants delivering haute cuisine direct to your door. So polish up the silverware and press the white tablecloths — fine dining is coming home.
Rosewood London, Holborn
Rosewood London has pulled out all the stops with this Rosewood London Dine At Home Service. The menu takes inspiration from every inch of the sumptuous culinary history hotel, whether that be with the mouth-watering pies from Holborn Dining Room (sides include mashed potato and heritage carrots), a choice of exquisitely decorated cakes from the Mirror Room (lighter than air and infused with delicate flavours) or a variety of expertly bottled cocktails from Scarfes Bar (we’ve got our eye on the Smoked Maple Manhattan).
And, in reliably decadent Rosewood fashion, the home delivery option will take you from ‘living room’ to ‘luxury hotel’ quicker than you can sample a cucumber sandwich (part of the ‘Champagne Art Afternoon Tea’). Available now, deliveries take place on Fridays and Saturdays (pies available from 19th March onwards), in London’s Zone One. And, from the looks of the menu, orders are sure to rack up quickly: so we’d recommend placing yours while you can…
Aulis, Soho
Simon Rogan — yes, he of award-winning, mouth-watering restaurants L’Enclume and Rogan & Co — is delivering a lockdown treat for Londoners. This bi-weekly changing, three-course meal is the product of Aulis, Rogan’s intoxicating chef’s table experience in Soho — and can be delivered to Zones 1, 2 and 3 from Tuesday through Saturday every week.
Each menu draws its delectable inspiration from striking, signature Aulis dishes served at the restaurant, with past menus including ‘Roasted Chicken Breast with Potato & Chicken Confit Terrine’, ‘Mushroom Soup served with Pickled Shemiji’ and ‘Rhubarb and Custard Trifle’. And, priced at just £45 per person, it’s the perfect night in.
Oblix at The Shard, Southwark
Unlike some other restaurants in London — offering only set menus or a selection of specific dishes for delivery — Oblix at The Shard does it all. Starters, mains, deserts and even sides are all on the menu; with the much-loved dishes created by executive chef Marcus Eaves available for nationwide delivery on Fridays and Saturdays.
Some of the delectable, mouth-watering highlights? Wagyu beef wellington with red wine sauce, Burrata with datterini tomatoes and Veal osso bucco with saffron risotto and gremolata. It’s a suitably high standard of food for the altitudinous restaurant — and your dishes will arrive prepared to restaurant standard and just needing to be finished at home. Choices will rotate seasonally, so keep an eye out for new options.
Hide, Mayfair
Associated with Michelin stars and Russian billionaires, Ollie Dabbous’ restaurant team were quick off the mark launching the Hide at Home delivery service. Deliveries can be made within a seven mile radius of the Mayfair restaurant, and Hide now has a tried and tested offering for all your fine dining needs. Think barbecued octopus, roast Iberico pork or grilled Herdwick lamb fillets with crushed green herbs and violet mustard.
Having initially created two and three course set menus, mostly sharing dishes with sides, the Hide At Home range now extends to breakfast, brunch, children’s options and grazing plates. And, to elevate the meal one step further, Hide’s head sommelier is available to make wine recommendations for guests to enjoy with their meal.
Orrery, Marylebone
Now this is fine dining. If you’ve had the pleasure of visiting Orrery in person — the D&D restaurant can be found in a converted stable block that overlooks St Marylebone Church — you’ll know just how charming the experience can be. And, thanks to the eatery partnering with Supper, you can now bring some of that gallic magic into the comfort of your own home.
And it’s proper, authentic French cuisine. There’s even an amuse-bouche — Madeira Consommé with seasonal vegetables. But, Seabass Ceviche starters and Poached Pear puddings aside, the real star of this continental show is the Lamb Wellington main, complete with pomme purée rosemary jus and big enough for two. Bon appétit!
London Shell Co, Paddington
One of London’s best loved seafood dining experiences, floating restaurant London Shell Co recently launched its Seashore to Front Door delivery boxes across the capital. For minimal effort, its ready-to-eat picnic boxes contain all the components for a meal for two, such as poached rainbow trout, hot smoked Dorset char and whole cooked prawns with mayonnaise, as well as a bottle of The Grand Duchess English sparkling wine.
A boujie BBQ box is also available, with delights including king prawns and sesame, soy and ginger tuna steaks. The fish is sourced directly from Cornwall and delivered to homes every Friday. Be quick – they sell out fast.
Wright Bros, Soho, Spitalfields and more
Another seafood-oriented offering with a focus on sustainability, renowned fish restaurants Wright Bros are keeping their fishermen afloat by providing Londoners with Wright Brothers at Home.
Their wholesale teams at Billingsgate fish market usually supply London’s top restaurants and chefs with a daily catch straight from local fishermen and markets in Devon, Cornwall and Scotland; now, they’re bringing this to individual homes instead. At the height of the last lockdown Wright Bros was delivering over 10,000 oysters from shore to door across London, as well as perfectly cooked crab and lobster, caviar, bottarga and octopus, so you know you can trust them if you’re planning a decadent dinner.
Trishna, Marylebone
Michelin-starred Trishna is delivering signature dishes from its menu — inspired by the south-west coast of India — across London from its Marylebone kitchen.
Londoners will be able to choose from old favourites such as Keralan prawn curry, tandoori masala lamb chops and seafood biryani, as well as indulging in a choice of feast menus for special occasions. Fresh-as-you-like Indian mangoes or traditional gulab jamun can be ordered for pudding, too. Deliveries can be made across North West London via Deliveroo and Supper while there’s also a range of finish-at-home signature dishes and feasting menus for those who fancy whipping up something delicious themselves.
Bancone, Covent Garden
One silver lining of lockdown is that the previously impossible wait for a table at Covent Garden and Golden Square’s Bancone (arguably the best Italian in London) is no more: everything from bucatini cacio e pepe to spicy pork and n’duja ragu with mafalde can now be delivered to your door.
There are mouth-watering antipasti dishes too: bresaola, Parma ham, and the creamiest burrata this side of Puglia. The pasta comes raw, but the effort is minimal to create restaurant-standard food, and the boxes include everything you need except for olive oil, salt and pepper. Extra parmesan can be ordered from the deli section, and a selection of Italian wines are available, too.
KX Private Member's Club, Chelsea
Now this one’s a bit of a tease — as at-home deliveries are only available for members — but London’s leading luxury lifestyle and wellness destination, KX, has whipped up a menu we simply couldn’t ignore. Created by the new Head Chef at KX, William Best, there are breakfast, lunch and dinner options, all responsibly sourced with quality and flavour at the core.
Our pick of the plates? There’s a mean KX Burger, slathered with confit onion and house sauce. But, if you’re looking for something a little more special, opt for the Grilled Lamb Chops with olive and honey dressing. Paired with some Chargrilled Broccoli and a Bitter Leaf Salad, delicious doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Cinquecento Neapolitan Pizzeria, Chelsea
Italy still seems a long way off. But, thanks to some of the British capital’s choice restaurants, you can visit the sun-soaked, continental country from the comfort of your own locked-down home. Our pick is Cinqucento, the authentic family-run Neapolitan pizzeria based in Chelsea and Portobello Road — and launching its third London outpost in Notting Hill on April 12.
Created by head chef Emanuele Tagliarina, there are some tremendously good dishes to choose from. Our top pick would be the ‘Romangola Pizza’; a Neapolitan special on a pistachio pesto base, covered in mortadella roses and a fresh buretta. Amazingly, it tastes even better than it sounds. Other options include the classic ‘Polpettine’ meatballs, and Sicilian pastry ‘Cannolo’ — filled with sweet sheep ricotta.
Hakkasan, Fitzrovia
Hakkasan at Home offers a selection of dim sum and modern Cantonese delicacies from the restaurant’s Michelin-starred a la carte menu. If you’re in the mood for celebrating, try the ‘Dragon’ menu, with highlights including crispy duck salad, rib eye with lily bulb black bean sauce and a selection of dim sum dishes. Or go all out with a selection of sharing dishes with the ‘Supreme’ menu, featuring a whole Peking duck with Prunier caviar, paired with a selection from Hakkasan’s own wine menu.
Gymkhana, Mayfair
Another Michelin-starred gem from the creators of Trishna, much-loved Indian restaurant Gymkhana has launched a delivery service for the very first time.
A bespoke feast menu for two is particularly enticing, with samosas, aloo chaat, paneer tikka, daal maharani, lamb biryani and so much more — your standard Saturday night takeaway will never taste the same again. The delivery radius includes Mayfair, Paddington, Knightsbridge, Victoria, Sloane Square, St John’s Wood, Camden, Primrose Hill, and King’s Cross.
Gaucho, Piccadilly
Steak lovers will be pleased to know that Argentinian beef is firmly back on the menu; restaurant group Gaucho is delivering its pampas-fed steaks, burgers, signature sides and copious amounts of red wine to your front door. Sunday roast with Yorkshire puddings, trimmings and lashings of gravy is also a winning option for a rainy weekend. Grab and go is also available from certain locations now.
Pidgin, Hackney
Tickets for Homing Pidgin — the lockdown spin-off of experimental Hackney fine dining restaurant — are selling out quicker than hotcakes, and for good reason. Its weekly changing menu sounds sensational: smoked confit chicken with salsa verde, mackerel escabeche, dulce de leche milk cake are just a few dishes that have cropped up so far.
In the restaurant’s three years of operating, it’s never repeated a dish yet. A great array of natural wines, pre-bottled negronis, ciders and St Jude’s cheese are also found on its website. Daily menus are available to order four days in advance; be quick if you don’t want to miss out.
Pied à Terre, Fitzrovia
One of London’s longest-standing Michelin-starred restaurants, Pied à Terre, has gone down a different route for lockdown deliveries while the restaurant is closed, deciding to create a 100% vegan offering.
A selection of dishes will include things like chilled white bean and truffle soup, classic ratatouille, and pineapple and coconut rice pudding. Its vegan feasts can be delivered within five miles of the Charlotte Street restaurant, or collected in person, and wine boxes can also be ordered online.
Coya, Mayfair
High-end Peruvian restaurant Coya has partnered with Supper to bring Londoners a taste of South American fine dining in the safety of their homes.
The Coya en Casa menu includes a selection of signature dishes and cocktails: highlights include beef wagyu, mushroom and rocket; Chilean sea bass with rice, lime, chilli and Papa Seca; grilled Argentinian prawn with quinoa, asparagus and peas; caramel con chocolate (a salted caramel ganache served with Coya’s own pisco blend and fresh raspberries); plus a full wine and bar menu to match.
Galvin La Chapelle, Spitalfields
Along with London favourites Sabor, Jose Pizzaro and Legare, Michelin-starred restaurant Galvin La Chapelle has teamed up with the newly launched Restokit to offer classic fine French dining at home.
Two weekly changing three-course menus of vegetarian and non-vegetarian fare, both devised by Chef Patron Jeff Galvin, are available with dishes including Dorset blue lobster ravioli, supreme of Landaise chicken, miso-glazed aubergine and pear tarte tatin. Delivered chilled, simply follow the foolproof instructions to create award-winning fare at home.
Fallow, Mayfair

It’s fair to say that Mayfair restaurant Fallow hasn’t had the easiest ride this year. Opening to rave reviews just one week before the first lockdown, its quick pivot to home delivery helped gain a loyal following and a busy dining room during the summer.
If you have yet to discover its take on modern, sustainably minded cooking then the second lockdown is the perfect time to try out some of its signature dishes, including smoked beef dandy rib, kombu fries, corn ribs and, of course, once unbeatable burger. Simply fire up Deliveroo to place your order.
