Why updating your wardrobe for spring actually matters
Most gentlemen I know think that losing a layer or two between winter and spring = a wardrobe upgrade. And while the diplomatic side of me can sit here and say that this does essentially qualify as dressing for spring, the truth is, doing so means that you’re likely lacking in the imagination department, or frankly, just a bit lazy.
Updating your wardrobe between seasons doesn’t need to be complicated work, but it does need to be done. First thing’s first, if you’re partial to hoarding clothes like it’s going out of fashion (pun intended), spring is the perfect time for a serious edit. Charity shops are on every corner of every high street and most of you probably have a friend or a brother in need of some stylish hand-me-downs.
You then need to think about investment. You don’t need to spend crazy, over-the-top money to set your wardrobe for the season, but it does pay to spend on a handful of high quality, well selected garments. You then need to think about whether you’re actually making the right kind of change, one that’s going to get you noticed, or whether you’re just switching your dark blue shirt for a light blue one (because incase you’re wondering, this doesn’t count). Make these changes, and become instantly more stylish this spring.
